Family Stories

Our story begins as two college kids that, by chance, sat next to each other in Accounting class. We can honestly say that we have been inseparable every day for the 14 years that have followed that special moment. In 2011, we got married and as a young married couple we focused on enjoying our time together until we knew we were ready to have kids.

About three years into our marriage we started discussing our family plan. We carefully thought through where we needed to be in all aspects of life in order to welcome our kids into a loving home. From there we worked hard to put that plan into place.

After 2+ years of trying we came to terms that it wasn’t going to be as easy as we thought. Our purposeful, well thought out plan for a family was going to need to go in a new direction. We looked up our options and were devastated to find out our insurance did not cover infertility. As luck would have it, we were able to get a meeting with Dr. Eve Feinberg who informed us of the Life Foundation which renewed our faith that it was possible for us to be parents.

This fall, we will begin IVF treatment as recipients of the grant. We are eternally grateful for Dr. Feinberg, the Life Foundation and the opportunity it has provided us to hopefully live out our life plan.

Sarah and Sean are recipients of a donated IVF cycle from our Partner Practice, Northwestern Fertility and Reproductive Medicine. They welcomed a baby girl, Reese, into their lives in May 2020.

When we found out that the next step was IVF, we thought our dreams were shattered
