Penelope and Robert

Penelope and Robert were fortunate to meet later in life and after a few years, they decided they wanted to start a family together.

Unfortunately, previous fertility planning decisions caused a roadblock, and their project would now require a bit of help.

Luckily, they found wonderful doctors that revealed the fascinating and miraculous world of assisted reproductive technology (ART). The difficult news was learning each of them would require treatments. Another difficulty soon revealed itself when their medical insurance denied fertility treatment coverage because of elective sterilization.

Their dream was slipping away due to insurance policy restrictions and that is when they learned about the Chicago Coalition for Family Building. They feel so blessed to have received an in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle grant that will allow them a chance to make their dream come true.

Penelope and Robert are recipients of a donated IVF cycle from our Partner Practice, Fertility Centers of Illinois. In August 2023, they were proud to welcome their son, Gideon, into the world!
