The Kevin J. Lederer Life Foundation, a local organization providing emotional, educational and financial support for those going through the challenges of infertility, proudly announces that their 2017 Life Grant Applications will begin on April 24, 2017, offering financial assistance for those considering infertility treatments or adoption.
"As someone who has gone through the infertility process, I know first-hand the challenges that my patients can go through in order to start or add to their family," said Eve Feinberg, MD, Director of the Kevin J. Lederer Life Foundation, and Medical Director of Northwestern Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Highland Park, and a Highland Park resident. "The time, effort and emotional toll infertility can take on individuals and couples can be overwhelming, and we are honored to provide some financial relief to deserving patients during this emotionally-challenged time in their lives."
The foundation offers two types of grants. The Financial Assistance Grant awards individuals who need financial assistance to aid with services such as third party reproduction, adoption or medication costs associated with In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). This is most appropriate for those that are planning to adopt or for those that have insurance coverage for IVF, but still require additional financial assistance.
The IVF Cycle Grant is a fertility cycle donated from one of the Partner Practices affiliated with the foundation. This grant is best suited for those that need to pursue IVF and lack insurance coverage.
The Foundation awarded 14 grants in 2016 with an estimated total value of $140,000. The deadline for the grant application is June 2nd, 2017. A link to the grant application will be available beginning 4/24 on the Foundation website, www.lifefindsaway.org.
