Jewish United Fund Path to Parenthood Grant

The Jewish United Fund (JUF) has partnered with the Coalition for Family Building to provide TWO (2) JUF Path to Parenthood Grants.

  • Financial services grant (up to $10,000 to assist with the cost of fertility treatment)
  • Adoption grant (up to $10,000 to assist with the costs of adoption)

    These grants are available to members of the Jewish community residing in the Illinois counties of Cook, Lake, DuPage, Will, McHenry, and Kane. Couples must have at least one partner that identifies as a member of the Jewish community to apply for this grant.


  • Eligibility Requirements


    • Couple must have at least one partner that identifies as a member of the Jewish community.
    • Reside in Illinois counties of Cook, Lake, DuPage, Will, McHenry, or Kane.
    • Be treated at a SART member clinic
    • Have a diagnosis of infertility certified by a medical provider, with the exception of the following:

    - Applicants who are single, or part of a same sex couple, are eligible and welcome to submit applications.
    -Applicants who do not have infertility but need to utilize IVF/PGT for single gene disorders

    • For requests for infertility treatment, you must have completed all required medical testing within the specified time frames. Documentation will need to be provided by your physician.
    • If you are applying for a grant for IUI, IVF or FET (utilizing your own eggs or donor eggs), you must have a body mass index less than 40.
    • Applicants requesting grants for IUI, IVF, gestational carrier utilizing your own eggs and for egg freezing for medical indications must meet all of the following criteria:

    1) be 41 years or younger by January 1, 2023
    2) have a body mass index (BMI) < 40
    3) have a FSH level of < 15
    4) have an AMH level of > 0.5

    • Applicants who do not meet these criteria will not have their applications reviewed.

    Eligible Expenses


    • Infertility treatment, including medications, from ANY reproductive endocrinology practice in the state of Illinois of the recipient's choice
    • Embryo cryopreservation (embryo freezing)
    • Embryo donation
    • Vasectomy reversal or TESE
    • Pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT-A/PGT-M/PGT-SR)
    • Third party reproduction (costs of securing donor egg, donor sperm and gestational carrier)
    • Attorney fees for adoption or third party reproductive cases
    • All treatments must be initiated within 6 months of receiving the grant and must be completed at an IL center. The grant expires 12 months from issuance and unused funds will be rolled over to fund subsequent recipients.

    Note: These Grants must be utilized within twelve months of being awarded and will be made directly to the service provider, not the patient, for future costs/services, (previous procedures and expenses are not eligible for grants). Recipients agree to participate in promotional activities related to this grant administered by the Coalition for Family Building.
