Jordan and Michael

Jordan and Michael

Jordan and Michael met during their sophomore year of high school, where they began dating, and later attended the University of Michigan together, building a foundation of friendship, partnership, and shared values that continues to shape their family today. Now based in Chicago, they are parents to a joyful and curious three-year-old who loves trains, cars, bike rides, and family adventures. Their journey to parenthood has been one of profound resilience — marked by infertility, pregnancy loss, the death of their five-day-old daughter, medical crisis, and decisions no family should ever have to face. After a life-saving hysterectomy made carrying future pregnancies impossible, gestational surrogacy became their path forward- one they are pursuing with deep gratitude and hope, driven by the dream of giving their son a sibling and building the family they have always longed for. They are honored to be recipients of the Family Building Financial Grant through the Chicago Coalition for Family Building and look forward to giving back to the community that helped make their family’s next chapter possible.
