Our journey together began in February 2010, while both in the Army. By September 2011, we were married. We always knew we wanted a family, so when our son came along in June 2013, we were elated to be first-time parents.

We began trying for a second child in May 2015 on our own, and began working with our OB-GYN in April 2017, to no avail. In April 2018, we took the next step and began seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. During that time, we did nine treatments (IUIs and timed), all unsuccessful, except for a chemical pregnancy we experienced in December 2018, which was honestly a breath of fresh air and gave us hope.

Struggling with unexplained, secondary infertility, we tried to remain positive with each passing month, but with an upcoming year-long military deployment just around the corner and no insurance coverage for IVF, our hope was diminishing.

Because of the Coalition for Family Building, our hope is restored. We feel so blessed and are so grateful for this life-changing opportunity and look forward to what the future holds.

Jackie and Tommy are recipients of a donated IVF cycle from our Partner Practice, Vios Fertility Institute.

When we found out that the next step was IVF, we thought our dreams were shattered
