Claudette and Darren
We met 12 years ago on Match.com, which was pre -Facebook, -Zoom and -What's App. It was a long-distance romance, with Darren living in the United Kingdom before he moved to the United States, nine years ago, when we were married. Being in our late thirties, we knew growing a family may take a bit longer. Nine years of trying naturally, followed by many infertility treatments, we were unsuccessful. However, after finding what was going on and finding the right clinic, we were finally ready to begin our family, until I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. Fertility treatments stopped and cancer treatments began. Chemotherapy treatments for a hormone-positive cancer prevented me ever from continuing our family building plans.

We are so very grateful to be grant recipients. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to continue our family building journey.
Claudette and Darren are recipients of a Family Building Financial Grant and in October 2021, they became proud parents of daughter Eleanora with the help of a gestational carrier.
