Jenna and Josh: Our Path to Parenthood Through Egg Donation

We are Jenna and Josh, a married couple navigating the challenges of infertility with unwavering determination. Over the past four years, we have undergone three rounds of IVF, experiencing the heartbreak of a miscarriage along the way. Our journey has led us to pursue the use of an egg donor, a step that fills us with renewed hope for building our family.
We were both raised in Jewish homes, where our faith and community played an integral role in shaping who we are today. Josh’s grandparents were Holocaust survivors, and his Jewish upbringing instilled in him a deep connection to his heritage. He attended OSRUI, where he formed lifelong friendships—many of whom stood by our sides at our wedding. Josh was also a member of the Lewis Summer Intern Program with JUF and remains closely connected to JUF initiatives.
We recently moved to Northbrook, to be part of a vibrant Jewish community and to create a nurturing environment for our future children. Our dream is to raise a family rooted in Jewish traditions, values, and culture, fostering a strong connection to our heritage. Through the support of the Chicago Coalition for Family Building and the JUF Path to Parenthood Program, we are taking steps closer to realizing our dream. We are committed to sharing our story to help others feel less alone in their journeys and to advocate for increased awareness and support for infertility challenges within the Jewish community and beyond. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and hope to give back by supporting others who face similar struggles, creating a legacy of hope, resilience, and community for future generations.
Jenna and Josh are recipients of the Path to Parenthood Grant from the Jewish United Fund – Chicago.
