Kelly and Mike
We met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Iowa in October 2016 and the rest was history. We got married in August 2021 and have been trying to start a family of our own ever since. We both come from a family of four, so having a big family of our own has always been our dream. After a year of trying naturally, we decided it was time to see a specialist. We met with Dr. Boots at Northwestern Fertility and Reproductive Medicine and after many tests came the diagnosis of unexplained infertility. We have had four failed intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles and decided that in vitro fertilization (IVF) would be our next step in our fertility journey. The financial burden weighed heavily on our decision as our health insurance does not cover any infertility treatments or medications.
We then received the most amazing news from the Chicago Coalition for Family Building! We are beyond grateful and so excited to be able to move forward in our journey to become loving parents!
Kelly and Mike are recipients of a donated IVF cycle from our Partner Practice, Northwestern Center for Fertility and Reproductive Medicine.
